29 Apr 2017 Thunderstorms.
One of the things I missed most when I was in California—there were no thunderstorms.
Deep in the morning hours John woke me to see the show. Our windowsills now are deep, and I curled up in this one to watch the sky – it was brilliant and beautiful. The thunder rumbled and rolled almost without stop, and lightning streaked down and then across above our building, brighter than anything you can imagine. It was spectacular. One of the most dramatic storms I’ve seen of late.
And then it passed. Fifteen, maybe twenty minutes of sky-cracking drama and then a release; the sky softened, the rain slowed and the storm, rather unremarkably, passed.
And this morning – green, wet, sunshine with just a whisper of ozone.
