A Note on Dialects

With over 25 years’ experience as a voice & speech/dialect coach, I’m very comfortable learning and incorporating new accents and dialects with ease. Those I’ve already performed or coached include:

  • Standard American
  • American Southern (various)
  • New England
  • New York
  • Chicago
  • Philadelphia
  • British (various)
  • Irish
  • Scottish
  • Hispanic
  • German
  • Australian
  • Russian
  • Eastern European
  • Bosnian
  • Israeli
  • Indian
  • South African

I’m a SOVAS award-winning voice actor with a broadcast quality home studio and a love of talking to a mic in a booth by myself for long stretches of time. I have a background in theatre and music, and, in addition to audiobooks, my voice has been heard in documentaries, commercials, tours, corporate industrials and a variety of explainers and eLearning programs. As for audiobooks? Oh my heart. I’m a lifelong reader. I’ve spent a good part of my career in new work and development. I was happily deemed by one generous reviewer as, “…an indispensable actor of exceptional power, nuance & range.” (It was Brad Rosenstein, of the SF Bay Guardian. And though it was many years ago, he has my eternal gratitude.)

Audiodrama—Uncanny County

Well this isn’t a commercial, an explainer, an documentary or an audiobook—it’s a terrifically fun selection from an wonderfully written and quirky audiodrama I was in as Connie Ambrose, “a local news giant and legend around these parts,” who really threw herself into her work… .

Uncanny County is a quirky, darkly comic, Southwestern-flavored anthology that brings you a new paranormal audio play every month.
